I’d never visited Salt Lake City and was absolutely amazed at how beautiful it is! It’s a cosmopolitan city surrounded by the magnificent Wasatch Mountains that are only ½ hour ride away. The Grand America is a magnificent five-star hotel with huge sleeping rooms, incredible views and impeccable service. I fully intend to vacation after HCEA since our room rates will be honored for three nights before and after the meeting.
Karen Prieto, Forest Laboratories, Inc.
We held our National Sales Meeting at the Grand America three years ago, and it was my first time to Salt Lake City. I had my doubts, but any concerns I had were quickly eliminated as soon as I landed. The spectacular beauty, hospitality and service of the hotel and the city were second to none. When I heard HCEA was going to be in Salt Lake City, I was so excited to be going back!

Like many others, we build a vision in our mind of what we believe areas of the country, or cities look like...partially built by pictures in a magazine, or a book, or what others convey who may have visited...but, you have to see Salt Lake City, no YOU must see and experience Salt Lake City...make plans to attend HCEA. The open grandeur of the city, nestled next to the large salt lake, is only surpassed by the friendliness and desire of those that live and work to make your experience a very memorable one. The Grand America hotel, its ambience, its staff will embrace you as you enter, and will leave you with...I want to come back, come back with family. See you at HCEA in Salt Lake!

Salt Lake City is one of my favorite cities to visit! From the moment you land....you are immersed in nature's beauty and the hospitality of an area that loves to showcase its unique offerings! The combination of HCEA, The Grand America Hotel and the beauty of the surrounding attractions really make this an amazing opportunity! You do not want to miss this one!!"

HCEA Keynote Address: The Water Coolers
The Water Coolers deliver a high-powered, laugh-out-loud combination of sketch comedy and music about what we go through just making each day happen – life, work, kids, husbands, wives, travel, technology – and trying to balance them all. Think Seinfeld set to music. E! Entertainment television calls this hilarious act “the hottest ticket in town!” The New York Times exclaims, “Office life’s loss is show business’s gain!” The Miami Herald raved that The Water Coolers are “like a big thumbs-up at a shareholders meeting!” And the Chicago Sun-Times says that The Water coolers are “guaranteed to make you laugh!”
A quarter of the entire meetings and conventions industry — the largest segment — is comprised of healthcare-related shows. While healthcare conventions and exhibitions represent a significant portion of the industry, they also represent a very unique convention marketing niche.
Pharmaceutical, medical device, biotech and many other healthcare-related industries operate within a marketing environment where rules and regulations are uniquely strict. As such, the marketing mix must be highly strategic, and exhibiting plays a key role in this mix.
Healthcare exhibiting is experiential. It provides the ability to educate and demonstrate in a one-on-one environment, and it can use a combination of every form of media.
While all marketing mix options are valuable in their own way, convention and exhibit marketing is the only one that combines them all. This represents both a tremendous challenge and valuable opportunities.
