ATLANTA — The Healthcare Convention and Exhibitors Association (HCEA) is celebrating 75 years of strength, stability and excellence in the healthcare convention marketing industry.

HCEA was founded in June 1930 as the Medical Exhibitors Association by 12 charter members. Over its 75-year history, HCEA has guided the industry through numerous changes through educating its members, advocacy efforts, market research, providing networking opportunities and more.

HCEA has events and other benefits for members planned all year long to commemorate the 75th anniversary. For example, HCEA is offering 70 percent more educational sessions at its Annual Meeting, to be held June 4-7 in New Orleans. This year, HCEA will also launch a new members-only website, including an online resource center, and HCEA will publish the first study funded by its Research Grant Program in 2005.

“We are extremely proud of and excited about this anniversary because it highlights HCEA’s strength, stability and focus through three-quarters of a century,” said Eric Allen, HCEA Executive Vice President. “Even after 75 years HCEA continues to innovate, to lead and to be a vital presence in the healthcare convention industry.”

HCEA is the only association solely dedicated to improving the effectiveness of all conventions, meetings and exhibitions for the healthcare industry. HCEA represents nearly 700 member organizations involved in healthcare exhibitions and conventions.
